After finding out about airbnb through Stumbleupon, my girlfriend and I started looking for a place to spend a weeks vacation, We found this gem in Vermont that looked ideal. After reading the reviews we new it was the perfect spot for us. And we were not disappointed. The cabin is in a beautiful spot of Vermont perched on a hill with a great view of the mountains. Though it may only be one room, it was the perfect fit for us. Andrew and Marilou have built an amazing little getaway. The climb up to the cabin isn’t bad at all, but I was curious about how it was going to be since it was February. Andrew worked tirelessly to ensure the path to the cabin remained clear and covered with lots of sand. Everything we could possibly need wasn’t far away down in the cute little town of St. Johnsbury. The people were as welcoming as Andrew. We didn’t get to meet Marilou, but we look forward to another visit soon!

We had an amazing weekend retreat at Andrew and Marilou’s Tree Cabin! Andrew greeted us at the driveway and told us everything we needed to know about the cabin in terms of working the heat, lights, TV, etc. The path up to the private cabin was cleared of snow, and the cabin was cozy, warm and spotlessly clean when we arrived. We also loved the beautiful deck with a breathtaking view of the sunset. Andrew and Marilou provided us with an experience that is better than any hotel we have ever stayed at. The bathroom was very clean and modern, and the sheets/towels were fluffy and freshly laundered. There was complimentary tea and coffee, a good assortment of DVDs to watch, and lots of plates/bowls/glasses for us to use. Can’t wait to stay in the tree cabin again!

Andrew and Marilou were welcoming and considerate hosts. The cabin was very comfortable and it’s position in the trees was great. Considering it’s cosy size the amenities were well provisioned for a very comfortable stay. We would love to return to utilize the outside grill and hot tub that is currently in progress!

Andrew and Marilou were wonderful and helpful hosts who worked through a cold Vermont night to make sure everything was working for us. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and Andrew really keeps the trail up to it completely free of snow and everything feels very accessible because of the lighting setup on the path. This is not a “cheap” cabin, but a fully modern getaway with a huge bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed (I think it was tempurpedic…). The kitchen has enough to cook almost anything and the selection of DVDs is perfect for a few nights of (website hidden). Johnsbury, Vermont is very close by and a great little city to check out and we recommend the bookstore and grocery store. It’s easy to get to the cabin because of its close proximity to both 93 and 91. Bring your ice skates in the winter too!

This place was great. Andrew and Marilou are extremely generous and gracious. The place was extremely cozy but with all the amenities you could want for a night or two in the woods. Free tea, cocoa, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, a fridge, a large and hot shower… It reminded us of a beautiful log cabin we stayed in in Denali, Alaska, actually. Anywho, very close to fantastic hiking and skiing, we’ll definitely be back again next time we have a few days to spare. Thanks Andrew for the hospitality!

The cozy tree cabin was perfect for snowy Vermont nights. Andrew and Marilou were very frinedly, responsive and attentive to our every need. The cabin was tastefully appointed. We can’t wait for the hot tub to be fully functional to return!

I was lucky enough to stay at Marilou and Andrew’s cabin for a week in mid-December. This is a very special place. Set up on a hill near the town of St. Johnsbury, the tree house is a quiet retreat for anyone looking for solitude and comfort in the woods. The cabin is well-built and beautifully furnished with everything I needed to make my stay enjoyable. The view from the large deck is truly breathtaking, especially when the sun sets across the valley from which the cabin looks upon. I am unhesitatingly recommending the tree house to all of my friends. What made my vacation fantastic are the owners, Andrew and Marilou. They are a warm, down to earth couple who are great fun too. They are sweet and kind and invited me to dinner, which was very memorable. I can’t wait to come back to their home in 2012.

Tree Cabin in Vermont is tucked away on the top of a hill amidst the trees, offering a quite and scenic refuge. Hand-built by Andrew, himself, the space is bright, cozy and clean. Inside the cabin you’ll find your day-to-day needs: microwave for heating your hot cereal (provided), a fridge (to store your market fresh veggies), a coffee maker, a waffle iron, pots and pans, a well-stocked bathroom, blankets, and even a t.v. (which, we didn’t use). Outside the cabin on the deck surrounding it is a wood stove, hot tub, and grill (we grilled steaks the first night). Marilou and Andrew are great hosts and we look forward to visiting again this year!
