The tree cabin has it all: a hottub, deck with table and chairs, a capable kitchen, and and of course a secluded cabin in the trees. Andrew and Marilou also had ingredients for three different types of waffles in the cabin’s kitchen. They were delicious and it’s a nice addition to an already great experience. The tree cabin is well worth staying at if you’re in the St Johnsbury area.

The tree cabin was the perfect getaway for the weekend. Even though we only had one night, it was well worth the trip. The cabin itself is simple, filled with a bed, the bare kitchen essentials, and a bathroom. The porch, like the house, is built using the surrounding environment, and is nestled into the side of the hill, housing a table (what a wonderful place to eat breakfast in the morning) and a really nice hot tub. Everything about this cabin was wonderful, and we cannot wait to go back.

What a wonderful place! We were warmly greeted by Andrew, who got us situated and then left us to experience the beautiful place. The hosts are always one step ahead of you–they have everything you could possibly need inside the clean, cozy cabin. We cooked dinner on the grill, sat under the umbrella in the rain, and enjoyed the hot tub, campfire, and even Talking Heads DVD. The waffles are delicious as promised, and the nearby hikes and nature walks are a welcome change of pace from city life. We would come back in a heartbeat.

What an amazing experience! We arrived Friday afternoon to super friendly host Andrew and Wally, lovable pup. After a climb up the stairs, we stepped into another world. Cozy cabin, adorable kitchen, and let’s not forget the amazing hot tub that awaits after a day’s adventures. And the waffles – oh, the waffles! We considered taking a sample back to the lab for further inspection, but we were too busy stuffing our faces. Now we can only dream about them (until we come back)! So many great experiences left to be had in the Northeast Kingdom, but here were a few of our favorites that we found driving around the beautiful local area: – P&H Truck Stop, a heaven of baked goods and a great pit stop on your way to Cabin Heaven – Shillings, a delicious brewery and restaurant not far from the cabin – The wonderful shops on Railroad St., especially Boxcar & Caboose books – Dog Mountain, a truly beautiful hike and a must-see for dog lovers – an endless array of hikes to breathtaking views When we had exhausted ourselves in the mountains, on the roads, and along small town streets, we retired for the evening to build a fire next to the hot tub and do a little midnight grilling. Thank goodness Andrew is soon starting new treehouse projects – a tour (and a return to this treehouse) will most definitely be in order. Thanks for a fantastic anniversary weekend!! – Nathan and Krysten

The Cabin was fantastic and a great place to stop on our road trip across the North East US. We only met Andrew on arrival, but he was incredibly helpful. The cabin had everything we needed and more, it felt like lots of thought had been put into making it as hospitable as possible. The highlights were the big BBQ, the fantastic hot tub (perfect after a long day on the road) and the waffle excitement (home made waffle mix, a recipe and a waffle maker were available in the cabin). It’s in a great location, there’s a good supermarket nearby for all the bbq supplies, and the provided wifi was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

This exceeded expectations that I had. Pictures do not do this cozy cabin justice, just as the description of how tasty those home-made waffles are! The area is absolutely beautiful, providing a serene, perfect (website hidden). Pisgah and Lake Willoughby are only a short drive away and are not to be missed, the best views I’ve ever seen.

My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time at the treehouse, it was exactly what we were looking for. We came during April before the beginning of our final semester of law school to get away from the stress and pressure of classes and it did just that. We were greeted by Andrew as soon as we arrived and were shown around the tree house. We headed into NH that night, at Andrew’s request, to a new brewery called Shillings– it was AWESOME! The food was absolutely delicious and so were the beers. We came back and took a dip in the hot tub that night and enjoyed the super comfy bed! The next day we headed to the Cabot factory, which was also a blast and then headed into town for dinner at Balliwicks- the food was super yummy, a bit higher price than we had anticipated but actually worth every penny. Thanks again for a great trip!!

We had a wonderfully relaxing getaway at the Tree Cabin. The space was impeccably clean, the waffles were delicious, the bed was comfortable, and the soaking tub boasted great views of the setting sun. Andrew and Marilou were wonderful hosts- definitely would love to come back again in the future!

This cabin was amazing! It’s beautifully built, and the deck is perfect for relaxing. Andrew and Marilou were so welcoming and helpful with telling us about local restaurants/breweries. They were also kind enough to stock the cabin with all the basic amenities you’d need for food and entertainment (games, Netflix, homemade waffle mix), which was a huge bonus. We had a great stay.

This is a beautiful cabin. Everything was wonderful. If I have any advice for the people who are thinking about visiting it is “just do it!” The experience is so unique and absolutely what I needed to escape the city.

What a wonderful get-away! We spent a long weekend in the Tree Cabin. The hot tub is fantastic. We even went in at night when it was snowing! The cabin itself has everything you could possibly need. We were there in late winter and it was very warm inside. Perfect. The bed is VERY comfortable as well. It was very private and secluded. Andrew even cleared the paths leading to the cabin when it snowed. It is very close to downtown St. J. (8 min drive) where you can find shopping and restaurants. This was the best get-away we have had in a very long time!! I would consider coming back to experience it again!
brook, HAVERHILL, MA – March 2014
Everything was perfect! It was cozy, clean, and incredibly relaxing. Check out the trails at the end of Almshouse Road, just minutes away and great for an easy, beautiful hike in the St. Johnsbury woods.

Andrew greeted us when we arrived. The cabin is just amazing. It has a private walk up and it really is in the midst of the trees. It was spotless and was better than a hotel stay. The place was just amazing. There was a grill and an amazing soaking hot tub. I loved every minute of it even though it was zero degrees out. They had coffee and all types of waffle mix. The cabin had wifi which is great. I loved every minute of our stay. The drive up from New Jersey was breathtaking. The cabin is in a great location as it is very close to an amazing diner, Anthony’s Diner, Rite Aid, and Dunkin Donuts. We went into St. Johnbury and ventured into a thirft shop and antique store. I loved our stay in Andrew and Marilou’s cabin and look forward to visiting at Andrew’s new adventure.
angelo, HOBOKEN, NJ – March 2014
We had such an amazing second stay with Andrew and Marilou! They are incredibly gracious hosts and we have enjoyed both our stays in the super cozy cabin. Even with temperatures well below freezing, we enjoyed many late night soaks in the hot tub underneath beautiful starry skies with a fire lit right beside us. Hopefully we will be able to visit again – it is definitely one of our favorite getaways! Thanks again for everything Andrew and Marilou!
