My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful stay at Andrew and Marilou’s. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts! Before they left for their trip they made sure that we were taken care of and had everything we needed. The cabin was very cozy, the fridge and kitchen well-stocked with the necessities, the bed was very comfortable, amazing hot tub – this accommodation was exactly what we had hoped for and more! Make sure you try Andrew’s homemade waffle mixes – they’re the bomb. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway that’s a quick drive from NYC, look no further, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.

We absolutely adored our time at the tree cabin. We went up for 3 nights mid-week for a little getaway and didn’t want to leave! We felt like we were in heaven sitting in the gigantic hot tub while fresh snow fell around us every night with the twinkling string lanterns over our heads. The snow banks around the hot tub were perfect for keeping a few beers cold… we definitely felt we could have stayed there forever. On our first day, we were snowed in and didn’t mind a bit — we spent that night grilling up some steaks and eating at the table inside. The cabin itself is the coziest little spot, the perfect amount of space for two. It was always perfectly warm inside, and the bed was luxuriously comfortable. The bathroom is like its own miniature spa retreat, especially when you use the shower right after the hot tub! On our second day, we went skiing up at Burke Mountain, which is an amazing hidden gem only a half hour away with a ton of trails for people learning to ski and experts alike. We also checked out Cabot Creamery and stocked up on cheese, went to a couple local markets, and explored St. Johnsbury a bit. If you get a chance, don’t miss Bailiwicks — we went for dinner on our last night. They have a huge, impressive cocktail menu, and our appies and dinner were some of the best food we’ve ever tasted. To top of this entire experience, Andrew and Marilou were such excellent hosts… it snowed every day we were there and Andrew always cleared the driveway and parking area for us, and made sure the path and steps up to the cabin were clear. The cabin looked and felt like new as soon as we got there, even though we know many, many people have enjoyed it before us. They do such a wonderful job of making sure that everyone’s experience is the best yet… We so appreciated their hospitality and generosity. GO enjoy this VT retreat as soon as you can. We wish we could re-live it!

Love this place!! Clean, comfy and a great spot to unwind and enjoy natural surroundings. I’d go back in a second. Hosts were great too. 5 stars.

We had a lovely stay at the tree cabin. It’s such a unique location. It’s cozy, very clean, and very well appointed. Andrew and Marilou have thought of everything. We cooked all our meals at the cabin during our stay, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was given that there is not a “traditional” stove/oven set up. We really enjoyed the special extra touches that were offered, especially the homemade waffle mixes. Andrew even offered to start a fire for us! The hot tub is not to be missed. We enjoyed it, and were very comfortable even in the single digit temperatures!

We had a PERFECT time at the cabin. It was super clean and nice, amazingly quiet, everything seemed really new, and it was VERY warm inside even though it snowed a little during our entire trip. As noted many times- the bed is INCREDIBLY comfortable. We slept like babies. Also, the flat screen with their instant Netflix was a thoughtful added bonus. Although we didn’t watch it much, it was nice to be able to watch a movie before bed if we wanted to. The cabin was stocked with a variety of hot teas and coffees (and sugar and creamer) which I, personally, GREATLY appreciated given my slight coffee & tea addiction. Also- that hot tub. Wow. Even with temperatures in the teens, even with snow falling on our heads, wow. I will greatly miss that thing. So warm and comfortable, and so beautiful to be sitting in the middle of the woods, with a full moon, during snow, and be completely warm. Loved it! Aside from the cabin- we had a really great time at a local bar/restaurant called Balliwicks (spelling?). Drinks and food were really good, and their staff was super friendly. We also bowled one entire night away at Gold Crown lanes. They have a full bar and an internet based juke box that literally has every single song, ever. The next day we went on a two hour snowmobiling tour with NEK Adventures. HIGHLY recommend them! It was a blast, the guides were super friendly and funny, and the scenery was breathtaking. Neither one of us had ever been on one before, so don’t worry if you’re new. It’s very, very easy. The tour guides recommended us to check out the Schilling Brewery in Littleton for dinner- and it was also DELICIOUS. Also, a lot of cute shops in town. The last day we checked out and headed an hour north to Jay Peak to ski. I had never skied before, but they offer a FREE two hour lesson with rentals- and for $90 I got skis, a 2 hour lesson and a lower mountain lift ticket (green and blue trails). They taught me well! I was off the bunny hill in no time, and rode the green trails for the rest of the day. So fun! We definitely want to go back next winter!

Andrew and Marilou’s tree house is a magical place and a beautiful mountain side escape. It’s perfect for couples, who feel comfortable in intimate space together. You truly have everything you need inside the little cabin, but the best part is the heavenly wooden hot tub. A few nights in there, looking at the stars will leave you feeling like new. Andrew and Marilou are wonderful hosts, removing snow, making a fire before you arrive. Wish our time could have lasted longer.

The Tree Cabin was so cozy! It snowed the night before we arrived leaving us in a perfect winter wonderland. Marilou, Andrew, and their precious dog Wally greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the cabin. Everything was immaculately clean and the tiny little cabin had everything we needed. Besides the delicious waffle mixes Marilou and Andrew had set out, we also cooked ourselves a delicious dinner using the hot plate provided (we would’ve loved to grill, but Vermont is pretty chilly in the winter…). The hot tub was hands-down the most magnificent part of our stay, letting us enjoy the nature and the snow while immersing ourselves in a hot little paradise.

We stayed in the tree cabin for our 10 year anniversary….It was delightful, the hot tub was awesome, as were the comfy bed and homemade waffles. Attention to detail were some strong points during our stay for example- farm fresh eggs, high quality buttermilk, and REAL maple syrup for the waffles! Bring a warm robe and a bottle of wine, the tree cabin is well equipped with all the essentials! You can watch the sunset from the top of the tree cabin deck! We had a great experience- Thank You! Andrew & Marilou’s cabin is absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I had a great time; the amenities were just right and the hot tub is one of a kind! The homemade waffle mixes were awesome, and Andrew whipped up a new flavor and brought it up to us! If you have a chance to stay here, do it. The weekend was magical thanks to Andrew, Marilou and this charming cabin!

This cabin could not have been a more perfect weekend getaway! A secluded cozy retreat in the trees in immaculate condition. The amenities (outdoor grill, huge hot tub, fire pit & COMFY! bed) all contributed to a relaxing and very enjoyable weekend. Andrew & Marilou were fabulous hosts- especially friendly & welcoming while also providing privacy for a romantic getaway. Well done! Thank you & good luck with the expansion- we cannot wait to visit you again soon!!

This cozy retreat is fantastic. The cabin was impeccably clean & just as pictured. It was so quiet at night we were even able to hear a few critters that must have been exploring outside. We enjoyed the hot tub & the hiking trails thru freshly fallen snow right on the property. There was wood for a bonfire in a little pit right next to the hot tub – simply divine! Andrew & Marilou made sure to keep the path & stairs up to the cabin clean from snow & ice (it snowed while we were there). They respect privacy & are quick to respond if there is a question or problem. (we had no problems, only a question about driving directions). We spent one afternoon hiking Mount Pisgah around Lake Willoughby. I highly recommend the hike. You’ll need crampons and/or snowshoes in the winter – it was mostly ice. The views were great even though it was a little cloudy. We ended up bringing all of our food & cooking/heating it up in the little kitchen area & it worked out fine. If you’re debating about making reservations here stop hesitating & just plan your trip – you’ll enjoy it!
